The skater has already demonstrated power circle patterns at the juvenile (formerly intermediate) level, and it was determined there was not a need to reevaluate this skill at the junior level.
Backward loops are being introduced in the junior test with a move that gives the skater the feeling of backward change loops from figures and teaches great body and edge control at a point in the testing structure when the skater can technically perform this skill.
A new straight line step is also being added. This move uses the turns that the skater has learned on this and previous tests in a simple pattern that demonstrates the skater's ability to perform continuous steps and turns with control and flow. It's also a good introduction to the new circular step on the senior test
