From USFS TR 25.04 - Candidates must skate the correct steps and turns on good edges, with good form, flow, power, and precisenessto their steps.

Average duration of this test is about 10 min. Passing average is 3.0 or total of 16.2.

Changes and Reasoning

The two forward and backward power circles from the intermediate test are being moved to the juvenile level. The addition of these moves at this level adds some needed basic power skating moves.

The eight-step mohawk is being shortened to be a continuous figure-eight pattern. The skater performs two eight-step sequences in one direction and continues to the second circle for two more sequences in the other direction.
