Singles Freestyle Competition |
|
This section of our website covers the freestyle competition requirements. These pages show the basic requirements. Knowing these requirements you then have to decide what elements will get you the most points. Scoring is based on the new ISU point system. The program requirements let you know what type of jumps and spins are allowed/required. The rules do not specify the exact jump. Since a double Lutz is worth more points than a double loop, the skater who preforms the double Lutz will receive more points. On the other hand the harder jumps have a greater chance of being downgraded. You may also be risking not landing them and/or falling so it is a true risk reward system. |

For the levels of intermediate and above two programs are skated, a short program and a freeskate program. |
