Miner is the 2009 U.S. junior champion and 2006 U.S. intermediate champion. He earned the silver medal at the 2008 U.S. Championships as a novice.
This was Ross' first time on the JGP circuit. Miner won silver at the 2008 Gardena Spring Trophy, where he competed as a junior. Ross started skating at age 3 because he wanted to jump and spin. He participated in the Basic Skills Program and was Formerly coached by Edmund Nesti. He earned the John Hopkins Vermont Science Scholar award in 2003 and was awarded the Mary Louise Wright Memorial Scholarship in 2006.
